Haven't you noticed that even MSFT updates tend to break things in order to fix other things? I would suggest that if it ain't broke don't fix it. Read carefully and opt out of the optional features, toolbars and crap that you don't want. Instead of yelling, whining and venting just start practicing safe and smart computing practices and always do a custom install on any software install. This has been the case for years and will always be the case.

That is simply the only way they can afford to keep providing that software for free. Flame me if you want, but if you have been paying any attention at all then you would have noticed that almost all free utilities and programs are going to install optional toolbars and other crap if you don't opt out. I would suggest that all of you just get over it. You've lost our trust, our loyalty and ultimately us as whole. You can keep apologizing and forwarding our feedback all you want. Thank you for "sincerely apologizing" for this "inconvenience" and for forwarding our feedback. I am certainly not an advocate of swearing or using strong language but this annoyed the frikkin' hell out of me so much today that I registered here just so I could give you the finger and tell you to go fuck youself. But whoever came up with partnering with OpenCandy should be fired on the spot. For all I care you just shove in some ads in the viewer or partner with some 3rd party that adds real value (doesn't Kapersky have such a partner-program for example?). But then at least have the guts to be open about it, be clear about it and most importantly: use some decent "third party product" instead of this shite.

I do understand, being a developer myself, that you try to make a buck or two from this free edition. Bye bye next few evenings and/or weekend. And now I'm the go-to guy for them asking me to fix and cleanup their PC's. But by then it was too late all above mentioned people (and from reading this thread, many, many more) had been shoved this crap down their throats. I unchecked it and cancelled the installer the updater fired up. I noticed your ̶a̶̶d̶̶w̶̶a̶̶r̶̶e̶ malware today when you tried to sneak it past me when updating Foxit reader by noticing this inconspicuous little checkbox. Foxit was lean, mean and just worked.Īnd then you bastards decide to silently sneak this shit in behind our backs. I've been advocating Foxit for a long time since I ditched Acrobat Reader for all it's bloat and problems. You screwed up my dad's computer, my mother-in-law's computer, my co-worker's computer and probably grandma's computer as well.
